The cup is fashioned from "porcellana camera" (double-walled porcelain). This means there is air between the inner porcelain layer – which contains the espresso – and the outer layer we hold in our hand. The espresso is therefore only in contact with a fine layer, which lowers the thermal capacity to an unparalleled minimum.
